Pumpkins require a lot of fertilizer to make it grow big.  I’ve heard some growers actually grow their pumpkin on a hill of cow manure.

Pumpkins are considered heavy feeders and need tons of nutrients.  The three nutrients you will need are potassium, nitrogen, and potash.  Towards the end of the season you will need to stress potassium to grow the large Fruit.
